Hij woonde in het Krakeel en had daar een landbouwbedrijfje. Hij kocht op 15-9-1803 van Hendrik Hans Flobbe een boerderijtje met grond aan de 20e Wijk op Krakeel voor f 1500,-. Verder kocht hij regelmatig veen. In 1811 werd jan huisman genoemd. Hij was gestopt met werken.
