Vader is Johan (Matthias) Nicolaas Brinkman (* Löningen) en moeder is Johanna Haarlem (*Alkmaar) en oo 22-9-1838 te Alkmaar. Vader hertrouwd met Maria Agnes Mente 16-10-1842, krijgen kinderen, maar Margaretha Engelina komt in het weeshuis. Margaretha gaat op 5-8-1857 tijdelijk? naar Löningen.
