John Herman Fischer, 81, farmer of five miles west of Ottawa, died at 6 a.m. today at home. He had been in failing health the past year, and suddenly became worse last night.
He was born December 13, 1861 at Oldenburg, Indiana. He was married to Anna Runnebohm October 8, 1889 at Shelbyville, Indiana. The family moved here from Haskell, Oklahoma in 1919.
Surviving relatives are the widow and seven children: Anthony Fischer, Spivey; Mrs. Joseph Lauer, Louis Fischer and Mrs. Deb Strafuss, Princeton; Bernard Fischer, Homewood; Mrs. Joseph Renyer, Berrytown; and Stephen Fischer, Pomona; 27 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five brothers and sisters; John and Frank Fischer, Mrs. Anna Neese, Mrs. Frank Weintraut and Mrs. Joseph Weintraut all Shelbyville, Indiana.
The funeral is to be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which Mr. Fischer was a member. Father A. B. Portelance is to officiate and interment will be at St. John's cemetery, Homewood. The rosary will be recited at the Fischer home Thursday at 8 p.m. (Obit: The Ottawa Herald, Jan. 5, 1943)

They got married on October 8, 1889 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, Verenigde Staten, he was 27 years old.
