Op 06-08-1910 is Wilhelmina op 32-jarige leeftijd met slechts USD 25,00 op zak samen met haar drie kinderen (Haaije, Martje and Jakob) geemigreerd naar de U.S.A. per s.s. "Potsdam" en arriveerde op 15-08-1910 in New York. Zij vestigde zich in Albion - N.Y. bij haar echtgenoot Hendrik Haaijes(z) van der Laan, die kennelijk begin 1910 vooruit was gereisd.

Met Wilhelmina waren ook aan boord zwager Jakob van der Laan (woonachtig in Albion - N.Y. en kennelijk op bezoek geweest in Holland) en de 28-jarige ongehuwde Jantina Henderika Oosterheert met haar 5-jarige buiten echt geboren zoon Petrus (volgens manifest: female !). Het manifest geeft aan dat Jantina Henderika direct na aankomst ("will marry upon landing") in het huwelijk zal treden met Klaas van der Laan, zwager van Wilhelmina.
