    Neem er nota van dat getrouwde vrouwen werden geregistreerd onder hun meisjesnaam en niet onder hun getrouwde achternamen. Overlijdensgevallen werden gewoonlijk vastgelegd in de gemeenten waar het overlijden plaatsvond, zelfs als de overledene geen inwoner was. In dat geval werd een kopie van het overlijdensrecord gewoonlijk verzonden naar de woonplaats van de overledene. Deze index bevat ook het registernummer - een uniek nummer per record en jaar. Het jaar en het registernummer zijn essentiële informatie voor het bestellen van een kopie van het originele overlijdensrecord bij het Stadsarchief Rotterdam (Rotterdam City Archives). Het originele record kan aanvullende informatie opleveren, zoals het beroep van de overledene, of de partner en de ouders van de overledene nog leefden of ook overleden waren en de namen van de informanten of getuigen (die soms familieleden of buren waren). Deze index werd gemaakt door de medewerkers en vrijwilligers van het Stadsarchief Rotterdam en werd verkregen van www.rotterdamopendata.nl .
