    Hij heeft als vurig lid van de Kerk geleefd en door Christus gesterkt in de laatste H. H. Sacramenten gaf hij in het St. Gregorius-ziekenhuis te Brunssum, 1 juni 1960 zijn ziel aan God terug. Zijn lichaam werd 6 juni ter ruste gelegd op 't R.K kerkhof aldaar.
    Het geloof heeft leiding gegeven aan zijn leven. Hij was een goede echtgenoot en vader. Hij was arbeidzaam en stipt. Met eerbied sprak hij steeds over al zijn medemensen. En de liefde dwong hem zich in te zetten voor de goede zaak en belangen van de gemeenschap. Toen een verraderlijke ziekte hem getroffen had, hoopte hij troost en — zo mogelijk — genezing te vinden in Lourdes. Maar juist voor de datum van vertrek voerde Maria haar kind naar het eeuwig vaderhuis.
