      Elisabetha is met haar moeder Geertrui Schmidt - Prins en haar zus Maria naar Johannesburg, Zuid-Afrika geëmigreerd. Vader Wilhelm was er al eerder naar toe gegaan. Na het overlijden van Geertrui in 1899 in Johannesburg zijn Maria en Elisabetha weer teruggekeerd naar Rotterdam.
