Jan (of Johan) VII (of I) de Middelste (Dillenburg, 7 juni 1561 - Siegen, 27 september 1623) was de tweede zoon van Jan VI van Nassau-Dillenburg en Elisabeth van Leuchtenberg.
In 1607 erfde hij van zijn vader het graafschap Nassau-Siegen.
Hij was graaf van Nassau in Siegen en Freudenburg.
Hij diende in het leger van de keurvorst van de Paltz en ook in het Staatse leger waar hij aanwezig was bij de belegeringen van Steenwijk, Coevorden en Groenlo.
In het Zweedse leger had Jan de rang van veldmaarschalk in de oorlog tegen Polen.
