    James S. Geers, age 75, of Byron Center, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and retired from Steelcase. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin; and a sister, Kathleen Spezia. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carolyn; his children, Kimberly (Mark) Birdseye, Kraig (Jill) Geers; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Nathan Birdseye, Jennifer (Perry) Hostetler, Ryan and Brent Geers; his great-grandchildren, Travis and Isaiah Hostetler; his sister, Donna (Sylvan) Disselkoen; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 8, at Unity Reformed Church, 4450 Poinsettia SE, with Rev. Mark Bergsma officiating. Interment will take place in Highland Cemetery, Highland Twp., MI. Contributions in memory of Jim may be given to Unity Reformed Church or Faith Hospice. The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stroo Funeral Home, and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at church. STROO FUNERAL HOME 1095 68TH ST. SE
