Bij zijn huwelijk, in 1707, wordt hij voor het eerst als Roelof Reijerse van Maurik vermeld. Dat is vreemd, want hij woonde in Maurik, had zich niet elders gevestigd, als zijnde afkomstig uit Maurik. Het zou kunnen zijn dat hij in dat gedeelte van Maurik woonde dat aan de overkant van de Rijn lag. " Van Maurik " zou hij dan voor zijn Utrechtse buren zijn.

Hij betaalde in 1723 hoofdgeld voor 2 personen: 3 gld. en 12 stuivers. (Bron Maurikonderzoek.com)
