Bruidegom stichter Deventer muziekvereniging

DEVENTER, - woensdag hebben de heer J. Rogier en mevrouw S.M. Rogier - Mol, Bathmenseweg 12, hun vijftigjarige echtvereniging gevierd.
De heer Rogier heeft met de heer A. Gerards het eerste begin gemaakt van alle muziekcorpsen die Deventer telt. In 1920 hebben deze twee mannen n.l. de vereniging "Kunst na Arbeid" gesticht. Ze startte met 6 leden. Wanneer Go Ahead een overwinning had behaald werd de voetbalclub door deze zes muzikanten van de trein gehaald en met muziek voorop naar het clubhuis gebracht. Thans is de heer Rogier nog steeds secretaris van de federatie van muziekverenigingen in Deventer.

De bruidegom van Woensdag heeft zich echter niet alleen met muziek beziggehouden. Toen in 1922 de gemeentelijke woningstichting alhier werd opgericht, was de heer Rogier gemeenteraadslid. Hij werd in het bestuur gekozen en is bestuurder gebleven tot September 1953.

Van beroep was de heer Rogier metaaldraaier. Hij heeft in het begin van zijn huwelijk bij Burgers gewerkt. De laatste periode voor zijn pensionnering werkte hij op de gasfabriek (meer dan 25 jaar).

De heer en mevrouw Rogier zijn beide 70 jaar oud, ze hebben 4 kinderen en 7 kleinkinderen. Op de receptie die Woensdagmiddag op de Bathmenseweg 12 werd gehouden is burgemeester mr H.W. Bloemers het bruidspaar persoonlijk komen feliciteren."
