Schaerbeek, B, 28 februari 1887, begr. Oirschot 3 maart 1887, dr van Nicolaas Henry de Groot en Maria Elisabeth Benoit. Op 8 april 1818 werd Jan Söhngen oud 25 jaar opgenomen onder de onderwijzers van de 2e rang voor de Nederlandse en Franse talen en mede voor aardrijks- en geschiedkunde. Op 27 juli 1824 werd hij aangesteld tot Frans schoolonderwijzer te Oirschot. Op 5 april 1826 mede toegelaten voor de Hoogduitse en Engelse talen. Op 28 april 1835 acte van algemene toelating tot schoolhouderesse van Lucretia van Dorp de Groot, oud 31 jaren.
