Hans Blankwaardt volgde een opleiding aan de tuinbouwschool te Frederiksoord.
In de oorlog werd hij 1e luitenant bij de luchtmacht van het KNIL. Hij fungeerde als staartschutter.
Na de oorlog werkte Hans Blankwaardt als Biologisch assistent aan het Instituut voor toegepast Biologisch Onderzoek in de natuur te Arnhem.
Helaas kreeg Hans kanker , de ziekte van Cane, hij overleed op 9 september 1978 te Arnhem en werd 61 jaar.
