    Een manuscripten die de stichting van St. Andrews Priory vertellen, Northampton vermeldt dat "fratres duo ... Garnerius de Ryche en Simon de Seynlyz filii Raundoel de Ryche dicteerde" William "the Conqueror" vergezelde naar Engeland. 1st Earl of Northampton & 1st Earl of Huntingdon was een Normandische edelman. Hij bouwde Northampton Castle, de stadsmuren en bouwde een van de drie overgebleven kerken in Engeland, het Heilige Graf, Sheep Street, Northampton. In 1098 werd hij gevangen genomen tijdens de Vexin-campagne van koning William Rufus in 1098, en werd hij vrijgekocht. Hij was getuige van Henry King's handvest van vrijheden uitgegeven bij zijn kroning in 1100. Hij bevestigde koninklijke handvesten in Engeland van 1100-3, 1106-7 en 1109-11. 1093-1100, hij en zijn vrouw, Maud, stichtten de Priorij van St. Andrews, Northampton. Hij was getuige van een beurs van koning Hendrik I aan Abbey Bath 8 augustus 1111 bij Bishop's Waltham, toen de koning naar Normandië overstapte. Simon de Senlis, graaf van Northampton en Huntingdon, ging vervolgens naar de Charité-sur-Loire en werd daar begraven in de nieuwe priorijkerk.
