Gezin Van Herck woonde in 1936 al in Wilrijk, daar huwde ook dochter Martha. Celestine De Meireleir kon op dat moment niet schrijven. Dochter Bertha woonde toen in Antwerpen.
Eduard Van Herck en Celestine De Meirleir woonde in de Letterkundestraat in 1945. Celestine bleef na het overlijden van haar man daar wonen, tot ze er zelf in 1949 overleed.
