Henricus Borms werd geboren in 1713 te Sint-Amands als zoon van Jan Borms en Elisabeth Goossens. In 1753 huwde hij in Bornem met Isabella Van Doorslaer. Haar afkomst is onbekend, maar naar alle waarschijnlijkheid liggen haar roots in Bornem.


Het koppel woonde in Sint-Amands waar ze twee kinderen kregen: Jan Baptist (1757) en Elisabeth (1759). Op 22 augustus 1761 beviel Isabella opnieuw een dochterje,Maria-Anna. De bevaling liep echter niet vlot waardoor Isabella twee dagen na de geboorte vann haar jongste dochter overleed. Na haar overlijden werd ene Guilliam De Wachter benoemd als meterneelvoogd.


Bij het overlijden van Isabella werd er een staat van goed opgemaakt. Hierin is te lezen wat Isabella bezat: koren, boekweit, hop, klaverzaad, ongedorst graan, stro en vlas. Maar ook enkele dieren zoals een koe, een rund een kalf en een varken. Deze beesten werden geschat op 63 gulden. Isabella bewerkte voor haar dood een stuk land genoemd "het binnewaerts" en nog een stuk "het hoylant", beide gelegen in Oppuurs. Na het overlijden van Isabella vond men ook nog twee goude ringen die geraamd werden op 20 gulden en 9 stuivers. De huishuur en landpacht betaalde ze aan de heer Peter Heulbrecht alsook aan Andries Hermans voor het land op "den bosdam". 


Drie maand na het overlijden van Isabella Van Doorselaer, hertrouwde Henricus Borms met de negen jaar jongere Maria Van Hoye uit Sint-Amands. Het koppel kreeg minstens twee kinderen: Andreas en Petrus. Na twintig jaar huwelijk stierf in 1781 Maria Van Hoye aan dysenterie. Rond 1786 leende Henricus geld van de Heilige Geesttafel van Sint Amands. Hij pachtte toen ook "den Beugel" van hen.
