Het 2e huwelijk van de inmiddels 65 jarige Dingeman met de 27 jarige Geertje Stehouwer wordt door zijn dochters kennelijk niet zo goed ontvangen.
Op 1 april 1807 is er een gecombineerde vergadering met schout en schepenen en de kerkmeesters. Er is een ruzie over een zitplaats in de kerk. Op de zitplaats van wijlen Jannigje Dirkse Cooyman (de vorige echtgenote van Dingeman Pleune Rietveld) is gaan zitten Geertje Stehouwer, de huidige huisvrouw van Dingeman Pleune Rietveld. De dochters van de overleden Jannigje Dirkse Cooyman betwisten haar die plaats. Men besluit Geertje Stehouwer gerechtelijk te doen aanzeggen "die plaats niet meer te mogen bezitten.".
