Vanaf 1808 voerde Napoleon in ons land de zogeheten conscriptie in, oftewel de verplichte loting voor militaire dienst. De Sliedrechtse lichting 1810 (geboren in 1790) bestond uit de volgende personen: Mees Boer, Pleun Deventer (natuurlijke zoon, vader onbekend), Hendrik van Diest (wever), Jasper dan den Donk, Dirk Groenendijk, Rokus de Groot, Arie Hartog, David Hechten (slager), Leendert Hofman en Wouter Hofman (tweelingen), Cornelis de Jong (schippersknecht), Elias Kop (afgekeurd), Cornelis Kros, Andries Lantser, Adriaan van Loon, Arie Prins (aannemer), Cornelis Redelijkheid, Barth van Rees, Gerrit Spruit, Willem Stabij, Arie Visser, Jan Visser, Klaas Visser, Helmich Visscher (landmeter), Jan van der Vlies en Arie de Waard. Arie Prins had verreweg de grootste lengte van alle lotelingen (1,841 meter). Hij werd (voorlopig) vrijgesteld, omdat hij de enige zoon van een weduwe (met veel dochters) was.
