JOORIS DE LOUWE, broer van BARBARA, en GEORGIUS BUYSSE, de 2de zoon van LIEVEN, waren voogd over de wezen. Normaal was dit voor de oudste zoon DANEEL, maar deze mocht niet aanwezig van de Fransen:"... oversints DANEEL BUYSSE sijnen broeder alhier niet en vermocht te commen van de Fransche..."Of DANEEL nu in het Franse leger diende, of door de Fransen was gevangen genomen, of te ver woonde om tijdens oorlogstijden naar Oosteeklo te komen, is niet geweten

BARBARA erfde van haar ouders een kleine 10 gemeten land en 1/3 deel van een hofstede met 9,5 gemeten land in Oosteeklo; ze hebben de andere 2delen van 3 gekocht. In de stvg vinden we een beschrijving van alle huisgerief, van wat op het land, in de stallen en in de schuur aanwezig was. Opvallend hoeveel mensen bij hen in het krijt stonden voor landpacht, levering van koren, boekweit en hout, voor de koop van een paard, wat hooi, een ploeg, vlas en de huur van een weefgetouw.
