    Zondagmorgen 15-02-1970 bereikte ons het onstellende bericht dat Nico
    was overleden Zaterdag na afloop van zijn werk klonk nog de bekende groet Prettig weekend en tot Maandag
    Zondagmorgen vroeg kreeg hij een hartaanval die zich om tien uur herhaalde en toen een eind maakte aan dit nog jonge leven groot was de verslagenheid Maandagmorgen in de veiling zowel onder het personeel als onder de kooplieden, de kopers kenden en waardeerden Nico door zijn werk als assistent van de kassier.
    Het was 1 Februarie J.L.juist 24 jaar geleden dat hij zijn werk begon op kantoor.
    Met verlangen zag hij uit naar het 25 jarig jubileum dat hij als bekroning op zijn werk zag, het werk dat hij met inzet van zijn hele persoon deed en waarbij hij steeds het belang van de veiling voorop liet gaan.
    Dankbaar zullen wij blijven gedenken wat hij al die jaren als collega is geweest.
