Adri was Priester, bijna 40 jaar.
Hij studeerde aan het klein seminarie in Apeldoorn en het Philosophicum in Dijnselburg, waarna theologie in Warmond. Hij werd op 27 mei 1961 in de kathedrale basiliek Sint Bavo in Haarlem tot priester gewijd.
Een jaar later ging hij naar Leuven om kerkelijk recht te studeren. Hij promoveerde en werd lid van de Kerkelijke Rechtbank in Haarlem. In 1978 kwam hij naar Hilversum, en in 1987 werd hij benoemd tot Deken van Hilversum.
