BROEKHUIZENVORST: 18 september 1728- Brief van W.H.Wierix, pastoor in BHV, als aanvraag voor dispensatie in verband met voorgenomen huwelijk tussen Wilhelmus Potten en Maria Sibert. RHCL Maastricht (10-1728-7-foto 1382a+b) Opm. Wilhelmus aen gen Eijndt noemt zich ook POTTEN (bron: Andreas Driessen (XXXXX@XXXX.XXX))
-Na zijn huwelijk met Maria Sijbers gaat Willem Potten wonen in Broekhuizen. Hier worden ook al hun 10 kinderen geboren. Willem Potten was beslist geen "arme" man gezien hij zijn geld uitleende. Hij was landbouwer en schepenen in Broekhuizen. ( zie Maasgouw 1908 blz 61).
- Bron: schepenbank Broekhuizen inv.A 103 R.A.Maastricht. Willem Potten wordt als voogd genoemd over de kinderen van de Belsbergh. Op heden 19-2-1754 soo hebben wij Willem Potten, Jacob Fleuren, beijde den mombres eedt aefgeleijdt voor de naer Cijnder van Wijle Conradus Laekens en Marij Bilsberg te overstaen van ons ondertekend.
