Uit de Gelderse kadastrale atlas blijkt dat in 1831 al een Kleiboer op Het Achterste Pothoven woonde: Gerrit Kleiboer, hij erft de boerderij van zijn schoonvader. Later koopt hij het Apeldoornse deel erbij. Daar bouwt hij een woning voor zoon Aart. Hij koopt ook het noordelijker gelegen deel (wat nu manege Pothoven is) voor zoon Harmen. Zoon Lammert blijft op Het Achterste Pothoven wonen, met zijn ouders. Lammert heeft geen opvolgers en verkoopt zijn goed. Zijn broers zitten in hetzelfde schuitje en zo is er geen Kleiboer meer te vinden op Pothoven. Zes generaties later koopt weer een Kleiboer de boerderij: Henk Kleiboer, onze (schoon)vader. Hij vormde jarenlang met zijn oudste zoon Jan Kleiboer een agrarische maatschap. De 'echte' boerderij ligt even verderop aan de Beemterweg, aan de andere kant van de gemeentegrens. De maatschap is inmiddels ontbonden, maar Jan (broer-de-boer) Kleiboer heeft nog steeds vee en land aan de Kerkstraat in De Vecht. !
