[Saeckma, Dirck]

SAECKMA (Dirck), geb. te Leeuwarden in Mei 1610, overl. 28 Jan. 1666, zoon van den raadsheer Johannes Saeckma (dl. II, kol. 1255) en Hylck Boner, liet zich 23 Mei 1625 als student inschrij-ven aan de franeker hoogeschool en zette zijn studiën voort te Groningen, waar hij onder leiding van den hoogleeraar Antonius Matthaeus driemaal rechtsgeleerde stellingen verdedigde. In het album van Hessel van Meckema treft men een blad aan van zijn hand, gedagteekend te Parijs. Op 7 Sept. 1632 werd hij ingeschreven als advocaat ten Hove van Friesland en op 6 April 1638 aangesteld als raadsheer, welk ambt hij bekleedde tot zijn dood. Evenals zijn vader schreef hij een commentaar op de Landsordonnantie, die evenwel niet het licht zag en later in het bezit was van raadsheer de Kempenaer. Hij was een vriend der letteren en bezat een kostbare boekerij; van den catalogus, uitgegeven in 1666 te Franeker, is o.a. nog een exemplaar in de Staatsbibliotheek te Dresden.
