Geestelijke begeleider van de CICM soldaten achter het front en lesgever in Haaren, Nederland (1915-1916). Professor aan het CICM Theologicum in Leuven (1917-1922). Doctoraat in zedenkundige en historische wetenschappen aan de KULeuven (1919-1924). Missionaris in de Filippijnen van 1924 tot 1930. Opnieuw professor in Leuven van 1930 tot 1959. Tegelijk archivaris en redacteur van de Chronica van 1930 tot 1946. Al die jaren ook begeleider van de ICM Zusters in Heverlee, tot 1963. Op rust in Leuven en vanaf 1970 in Korbeek-Lo.
