Notes about Harry Corneal (Bud) Peetoom

Harry Corneal "Bud" Peetoom was born on August 13, 1922, in Catesby, Oklahoma. He was the son of George and Alice (Hamilton) Peetoom. He grew up most of his child hood in Braman. He later drove a transport bus and a semi truck. In 1940 he married Dortha Baumgardner and they made their home for a short time in Braman before Harry joined the United States Army serving in World War II for 2 years. After his discharge they moved back to Braman where he began farming. He later began working for the Oilfields and traveling throughout different states. He moved to Ark City, Oklahoma, in approximately 2000. On October 17, 2007, he married Velma Franks Collins in Ark City, Oklahoma, and they made their home at the Presbyterian Manor in Ark City, Kansas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and riding go carts. 

He is survived by his wife Velma Peetoom of Ark City, Kansas; one son, Gary Peetoom of Attica, Kansas; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Carl J. Peetoom of Ark City, Kansas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Peetoom; one daughter, Norma Jean Peetoom; his 1st wife Dortha Peetoom Howard; one brother, Gilbert Peetoom; and one sister, Billie Thurman. 

Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the Braman Cemetery, with the Rev. Frank Tepe of Christ's Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating; burial will follow at the Braman Cemetery.
