(Research):Jan Reesink is geboren op 7 oktober 1786 in Zutphen als oudste kind van Hendrik Reesink en Johanna Geertruid Jansen. Jan was meestersmid te Zutphen en trouwde op 12-08-1810 met Antonia van den Bergh, geboren op 12 juli 1788 in Zutphen. Jan nam dus de zaak Reesink NV van zijn vader over. Hij was in de handel zeer ervaren en toonde zich een goed bedrijfsleider in de ijzerhandel. Hij deed internationale zaken met Engeland,. Zweden en Duitsland. Ook had hij belangen in de papierfabriek Hissink en in een lijmfabriek, dit doordat zijn zwager Carl Albert Thieme, die getrouwd was met Grada Anna van de Bergh, de zus van zijn vrouw, hierin als boekverkoper zijn aandeel had. Zijn zwager was zoon van Hermann Carl Thieme uit Wesel in Pruisen, die in 1795 de boekhandel, binderij en drukkerij van D. van Eldik aan de Houtmarkt in Zutphen had overgenomen. Hieruit is de bekende drukkerij en uitgeverij W.J. Thieme & Cie. ontstaan.
