Tussen 1940 en 1942 heeft de NSB afdeling Amsterdam een enquête onder haar leden gehouden, waarvan de strekking en inhoud niet van bekend is en niet bewaard is gebleven, maar wel de namen en adressen van de leden die aan dit onderzoek hebben meegewerkt. Deze namenlijst is in 1945 in handen gekomen van de POD (Politieke Opsporingsdienst) Amsterdam. Deze namenlijst is in boekvorm verschenen, onder de titel Ledenlijst van de Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging te Amsterdam.

Een aanwijzing dat een persoon wel in vreemde krijgsdienst is geweest, is wanneer de aanvrager geboren is voor 1930, en eveneens toen geboren is als Nederlander. Deze database heeft de namen van ongeveer 11500 namen van die Nederlanders die hun Nederlandse nationaliteit herkregen.
