Oudste zoon vernoemd naar zijn vader.

Gerrit bouwde tussen 1767 en 1777 een eigen huisje, het Bekhuis, en verliet toen het Olde Ottinkhof om ruimte te maken voor Evert Ottinkhof en Gezina Voskamp (de voorouders van mijn correspondent Charles Horsthuis). Sindsdien gebruikten hij en zijn kinderen de naam Bekhuis.

Hoofdgeld 1767: Gerrit, de snijder in ’t oude huis betaalt, Geese Broekhuis in ’t oude Ottingkhof is onvermogend
Rechterlijk archief Landgericht Ootmarsum, nr. 9, fol. 306, 25 jul. 1777: Gerrit Ottinkhoff en Geze Broekhuijs lenen F400,00 van Berend Huiskes te Frenswegen; onderpand is het Bekhuis; afgelost op 1 mei 1786.
