Op vrijdag 13 augustus 1993 ontdekte een Noorse onderwatercamera het wrak van de onderzeeboot Hare Majesteit O22 die op 5 november 1940 uit Dundee Schotland was vertrokken en met 43 Nederlandse en 3 Britse bemanningsleden in 19 november 1940 is vergaan. Volgens Duitse archieven/logboeken door een voltreffer geraakt op circa 70 km van de plaats waar het nu gevonden is, namelijk circa 75 km ten zuiden van Noorwegen en op 180 meter diepte. De plek is nu een internationaal oorlogsgraf.
