Op 8-3-1774 verhuist Jan met zijn gezin van Papekop/Diemerbroeck naar Oudewater. De akte van indemniteit van die datum wordt afgegeven aan Hilligje Aersdr.Verwoert, echtgenote van Jan Copier. Er zijn 5 kinderen: Hendrik (ca. 13 jaar),Aart (ca. 10 jaar), Cornelis (ca. 9 jaar), Jan (ca. 5 jaar) en Maria (ca. 2 jaar). Op 10-2-1791 wordt een copie van deze akte gegeven aan Cornelis Copier, dan ca. 26 jaar oud. Waarheen hij gaat, wordt niet vermeld. In 1801 verhuist het gezin naar IJsselstein, waarschijnlijk zonder Jan, Cornelis en Hendrik. Deze laatste bleef in Oudewater en huwde Aaltje Hoveling die van Bunnik/Vechten naar Oudewater kwam. Op 17-12-1803 wordt een kopie van deze akte van indemniteit afgegeven aan Jan Copier, 36 jaar oud.
