In 1975 zijn Gerarda en Adriaan uit elkaar gegaan maar ze zijn niet gescheiden. Hij heeft 25 jaar samen gewoond met een weduwe in haar huis in Rowville Victoria Australie en is daarna verhuisd naar Upper Coomera in Queensland waar hij ook overleed.
