1712 - op de zeedijck - met sijn moeder jannigje melis

ernst gaat als matroos met het fluitschip -groenswaart- onder kapt. klaas van eik naar batavia op 2 Jan 1718 en keert met dit schip en deze kapitein terug op 8 Aug 1719.
op 4 Nov 1719 vaart hij uit als kwartiermeester naar batavia op de maidentrip van -huis te assumburg- en keert terug op 4 Jul 1723 met het spieghelretourschip -prattenburg-
onder bevel van kapitein jan van der heiden.
op 29 Nov 1723 gaat kwartiermeester ernst weer naar indie aan boord van de -kommerrust- en kap. pieter verley, hij monstert aan voor de terugreis op de hekboot -agatha- en kapitein wouter brand. ze vertrekken op 20 Nov 1725 naar huis.
de -agatha- vergaat ter hoogte van mauritius.
