    Obituary
Born Arendina “Diane” Meints was born to Anne and Klaske Meints. She was the 8th child in a family with 12 children. Diane was born in Assen, Drenthe, the Netherlands and when she was 9 yrs old she joined her family in a life changing move to Houston, BC, Canada. Known as Dini, she would deliver milk from the farm and then enjoy time in town.
Arendina, Dini, settled on the name Diane. She met the love of her life, Martin Onderwater and married him in 1965, in Houston, BC. As a young married couple they first settled in Surrey BC and were blessed with their first three children. A move to Langley and another four children blessed to them made their family complete.
In 1980 the Onderwater family made their way north, back to Houston, where they put down their roots. Diane remained a resident of Houston for the rest of her life.
Over the years Diane made a home in Houston. She was an active member of TOPS, shared a bus driving job with her husband, back and forth to Smithers each day. She also found employment at Woodmere Nursery in Telkwa. She very much enjoyed working there and was a valued employee for many years. She was known for her hard work, her no nonsense attitude and could always be counted on to correct someone if they used foul language in her hearing.
Diane very much loved her family, she looked forward to visits and conversations with her grandchildren. She always had an open door for anyone stopping by for a coffee visit. Her children and grandchildren also have fond memories of camping with her and Martin, adventures on road trips and many , many family meals together.
Diane, above all else loved her Lord God. She made Him a priority in her life and loved to worship Him at the Canadian Reformed Church. She prayed daily for her family, read the bible and discussed many sermons. She was not afraid to confront a loved one if she felt they were wondering away from the Lord. She would not tolerate foul language spoken in front of her and was quick to point out that God always came first.
Diane will be remembered by her husband, her children and grandchildren as a fair and loving and concerned wife, mother, grandma and Oma. Her frank faith will continue to be an example for all who knew her. We know and rejoice and take comfort in the fact that now she has seen the face of her Lord and Saviour and long for the day we meet again.
