"Johannes Franciscus Alink overleed op 30 october 1943 (60 j.) tengevolge van kanker (carcinoma) aan de ingewanden. Hij is 2 maal kort na elkaar geopereerd. Na zijn laatste operatie heeft hij nog een half jaar doorgebracht in 't Algemeen Ziekenhuis, onder een enorm lijden. Zijn dood was voor hem een ware verlossing. Hij was R.K. en heeft al zijn kinderen de Katholieke doop laten ontvangen. Hij brak met R.K. kerk waarschijnlijk kort na de geboorte van het laatste kind. Geestelijke en financiële bijstand, welke hem via zijn vrouw door R.K. geestelijkheid op zijn sterfbedwerd aangeboden, heeft hij niet geaccepteerd. Hij was aanhanger van het atheïsme. Hij was onder zijn kinderen zeer geliefd, toonde veel belangstelling voor het wel en wee derkinderen en was ook buitenshuis zeer bemind. Hij was van beroep textielwever. Hij knutselde veel, was tamelijk technisch van aanleg. Hij had veel liefhebberij voor het vissen."
