Hij was predikant in Doorn vanaf 14 oktober 1787 en in Zwartsluis vanaf 4 december 1791.

 

ZWARTSLUIS, den 22sten juny. Heeden heeft onze geliefde Leeraar Ds C.W.P. HUGENHOLTZ voor eene aanzienlyke Vergadering, niet zonder wederzydsche aandoening een zegenend afscheid van onsgenomen met Handelingen XX:27. "Want ik hebbe niet achtergehouden, dat ik U niet en zoude verkondigd hebben alle den raad Gods". De verheerlijkte Kerkkoning vergezelle hem in zyne nieuwe Gemeente en zorge ook voor de onze, die thans ten deel herderloos is.

Vanaf 13 juli 1801 stond hij in Hasselt. Hij vroeg wegens zwakheid emeritaat aan dat hem falvo honore verleend werd op 2 mei 1808. Hierop vertrok hij naar Kampen, waar hij 20 jaar later overleed.
