    Derk Jan Bannink (1876-1954) keerde in 1898, nadat hij in Lonneker in de textelindustrie gewerkt had, terug naar Marklo en werd de definitieve opvolger van Derk Bannink. Hij trouwde in 1904 met Jenneken Hoekman (1880-1967 ) van boerderij Hoekman- Snat . Zij kregen 4 kinderen: Arend Jan (1906-1993) die trouwde met Geertruida Hidders in Diepenheim, Berendina Johanna (1907-1990) die in 1931 trouwde met Gerrit Hendrik Roelvink, lang op de Kattenberg woonde en later aan de Stationsstraat, Jan Hendrik (1909-1909) en de oudste zoon Derk Jan die de opvolger werd.
