Vader Jan Janszn. is kuiper in de brouwerij "de Roode Leeuw" te Rotterdam. Deze brouwerij ligt aan de Nieuwe haven zuidzijde en het Haringvliet noordzijde.

Op 5-7-1608 koopt Jan Janszn. een huis aan de Hoogstraat.
Op 14-5-1612 koopt hij nog een huis in deze straat.

Jan Janszn. trouwt met Neeltje Willemsdr., weduwe van brouwer Jacobszn. Jan Jansz. overlijdt voor 1628.
Op 7-2-1628 koopt Neeltje Willemsdr., weduwnaar van Jan Jansz. een huis aan de Nieuwe Haven.
Op 23-5-1628 verkoopt zij dit huis weer.
Vervolgens verkoopt zij op 5-5-1632 het eerste huis aan de Hoogstraat en op 29-4-1648 het tweede huis aan de Hoogstraat.
