Jac was erelid van de Historische Kring Loosdrecht waar hij lange tijd in het bestuur zat. In 1992 stelde hij een fotoboek ' Loosdrecht toen en nu' samen. Hij is ook mede-oprichter van de Stichting Familie Mur waarvan hij tot zijn dood voorzitter is geweest.
