Notes about Cornelis-wilhelm Michels

Cornelis Wilhelm Michels(mijn opa), heeft kort bij de nederlandse spoorwegen in Hoek van Holland gewerkt, heeft zich vertilt aan een klein pakketje, dat
vervoerd moest worden als pakketje per spoor, en raakte hierdoor afgekeurd vanwege behoorlijke rugklachten, waar hij altijd last van heeft gehouden.
Daarna heeft hij samen met zijn broer Leendert nog een tijd een vrachtvervoerbedrijf gehad. Zomerhuisjes die in de winter weg moesten van de camping
in Hoek van Holland, de eigenaren hiervan kwamen veelal uit Rotterdam, werden afgebroken en vaak opgeslagen in Rotterdam. Zij deden dat vervoerswerk.
In het voorjaar werden de huisjes weer opgebouwd in H.v.h.
Vijf maanden heeft hij een ijssalon aan de Albert Cuypstraat in Amsterdam gehad, hij maakte het ijs zo goed, dat er eigenlijk bijna niets verdiend werd
(dit volgens mijn moeder, zijn dochter Wilhelmina Marie).
Vervolgens werd hij groentehandelaar in oktober 1936, tot november 1963.
De pensioenkaart van de Spoorwegen is nog in mijn bezit.
