In de vroege ochtend van 7 juli 1869 heeft hij ten huize van Klaas Benus te Nieuw-Buinen 'door haar te slaan en te binden diens huisvrouw Sophia van Oost onschadelijk gemaakt' en gedwongen hebbende hem de sleutel eener in het woonvertrek aanwezige kist te wijzen, daaruit ten nadeele van genoemde Benus, een zakmet eene geldsom van f. 84,60 heeft weggenomen, terwijl de door hem gepleegde geweldoefening sporen van kwetsing van Sophia van Oost heeft nagelaten, en zij tengevolge voormelde mishandeling gedurende meer dan 20 dagen belet is haar gewoon werk te verrigten..
