RES: In 1820, he lived in Lexington Co., SC. Moved to Walt on Co., GA before
1829, then moved to Carroll Co., GA about 1831. Transferre d by deed a gift of
200 acres in the community of Sand Hill in Carroll County t o his sons John A.,
Anderson, James H. Jr., and Zachariah George (Carrol Co., G S deed book E, page
37,47 and 64). By 1872, he had moved to that
part of western Carroll County which became Haralson County . - REF: Al Turner
of Rex, Georgia, letter dated 5 Feb 1998 and attached famil y group record for
James Howard Stidham Sr. dated 5 Feb 1998.

vol 2. I believe that James Howard StIham is
the Brother of Adam StIdham found in the
1850 census, page 21 Carroll Co, Ga. and
page 38, 1860 census Haralson Co. Ga.
One of Adams children (Dennis) married
Frances StIdham (his 1st cousin) and
daughter of Z. George StIdham. We think
that Frances went to live with Adam's
family .The 1850 census list the name as
Steadham but all other records and census
list the name as Stidham.
