Berend Jans Wolters is op tragische wijze overleden, in het begraafboek staat geschreven ‘Wolther Berend, in een leemkuil verplettert, ter aarde besteld.’
Op 7 oktober 1759 hertrouwt de weduwe Rixe Alberts met Geert Jans Krenge uit Nijenharen in Munsterland. Er wordt een eenkindscontract opgemaakt over hun zoon Albert. Aan de zijde van Berend Jans Wolters worden zijn beide broers benoemd: Harm Arends en Jan Jans Kuipers. Deze laatste wordt na zijn overlijden in 1760 vervangen door Willem Jansen uit Emmen; oom.
