tachtigtal menschen den dreigenden dood haddon ont-
rukt ; tot nu toe evenwel werden niet minder ver-
dienstelijke mannen vergeten, en wel de brave in-
gezetenen van Ammerzoden, met name Jacobus Klink,
Gijsbert en Jan van Zeelst , Cornolis en Hendrikus
Dekkers, die in den morgen van 7 Januarij , toen dat
ongelukkige dorp op het onverwachtst door den alver-
nielenden watervloed werd overvallen, zich zelven
vergetende, al wadende en zwemmende een tal vau
menschenlevens gered hebben.
