Woonde op de Garenmarkt. Vertrok naar Congo in Afrika. Voor de familie was hij een buitenbeentje en hij had weinig contact met hen. Wel met zijn zussen Ditje en Alie. Van de brieven die hij schreef aan zijn zuster Ditje zijn nog een paar kopiëen bewaard door Jaap van 't Riet. Na 3 jaar is hij naar Nederland teruggekomen.
