Op lijst nr.80 werd Betsie Morshuis ingeschreven zij kwam van Ootmarsum
Ze gingen wonen in Goirke 267.
Ondertussen werd hun een zoon geboren op 26 0ktober 1872 in Tilburg.Hij kreeg de namen van Gerardus Johannes Maria.
Op een lijst van uitgaande personen in Tilburg verhuisden ze opnieuw op 28 april 1873. Betsie kon niet aarden in Brabant. Ze miste haar familie en had heimwee. Zij gingen met hun drieën terug naar Twente.
Ze gingen weer wonen in Ootmarsum. Later verhuisden ze naar Dennenbosdwarsweg 187 te Hengelo.
Op latere leeftijd hield Piet van uitslapen als dat zo uitkwam. Dat was niet naar de zin van Betsie, een vinnige vrouw. Lag Piet nog in bed dan ging ze met veel lawaai de ramen van de slaapkamer wassen. De boodschap kwam dan wel over.
