Hij bleek bij die huwelijken geen geboortebewijs te kunnen overleggen en legde een 'akte van bekendheid' over, opgemaakt door het kantongerecht, waarin getuigen verklaren dat hij in Dodewaard is geboren op 10-10-1811. Een afschrift van die akte van bekendheid is te vinden in de bijlagen bij het tweede huwelijk.
