Hij noemt zijn oudste zoon na zijn vader Theodorus.* Bernard 2de zoon Wilhelmus heeft Jan Gertsen als doop getuige* en Bernard noemt zijn 3de zoon Gerardus naar zijn stiefvader (en zijn moeder’s 2de echtgenoot) Gerardus Gertsen*. Dit is de eerste maal dat de naam Gerardus bij de Kloppenburg clan zijn intrede doet.
    Helaas is de documentatie in de 18de eeuw erg slecht en heb ik geen ‘paper trail’ gevonden. Maar de informatie van Theodora Berns 2de huwelijk geeft in mijn opinie voldoende informatie over de gezinsverhoudingen dat het niet anders kan dat Theodora Berns en Theodorus Kloppenborger de ouders zijn van Bernard Kloppenburg!
