Notes about Johannes Josephus Bergansius

J.J. Bergansius, kapitein der Artillerie, geen onbekende in de wapenindustrie was hoofd van de Maastrichtse wapenkeuringscommissie en had vele contacten op dat gebied. Hij had grote interesse in de fabricage van handvuurwapens en daarom heel wat uren doorgebracht bij de Nederlandse maar ook Belgische (Luikse) wapen industrie. In 1869 verscheen er een boek van zijn hand. “Handleiding tot de kennis en inrichting en het gebruik van revolverpistolen” In dit boek stond een ontwerp voor het vervaardigen van een snelvuur oorlogsrevolver. Volgens dit ontwerp werden een aantal modellen gemaakt. Deze werden door hem ter beoordeling aan de Minister van Oorlog aangeboden.
