In 1686 werden de “goederen tot en aen den huijse en casteele van Herwijnantsrade gehoorende” door landmeter Nicolaas Frissen opgemeten. Wat “den hoff te Velde” betreft komt hij tot de volgende resultaten: “eerstelijk die gewandens aen den Knevel liggende en bevonden groot te zijn viertig buijnder, eenen morgen, negen kleijn roeden, reijngenoot de gewanden van Wijnantsrade en de gewande van Visschegracht ter andere zijde; item de gewande aen Velder Bosch, groot seventhien buijnder, eenen morgen, negen en sestig kleijnen roeden; item een bempt liggende naer ’t Retersbeeck uijt, groot een buijnder twee morgen, 23 kleijnen roeden; item gemeten de huijsweijde met het land en bempt daer bij liggende naer Visschegragt opgaende, groot elff buijnder, 2 morgen, zeven clenen roeden” 20. De eerste pachter die we op hoeve “De Velde” in Wijnandsrade tegenkomen is Jan Coixs (1615); daarna is het zijn schoonzoon Peter Eyssen (overleden in 1675)2 Es war ein Hof, des Grafen Bongarts, der Kämmerer beim Herzog von Jülich war. Joannes Quix war Schöffe in Wynandsrade. Der Pachthof wurde dann weiter vom Sohn Rutgerus Quix, 1721 geboren mit seiner Frau Maria Meyers und später von deren Sohn Christiaan Quix, 1754 geboren und seiner Frau Clara Wijnands bewirtschaftet. Rutgerus Quix war um 1777 Bürgermeister von Wijnandsrade und dort auch Schöffe. Der Te Velder Hof wurde 4 Generation von der Familie Quix bewirtschaftet und kam an den Sohn Michael Quix, 27. 01. 1791 geboren und seiner Frau Maria Augusta L’Ortye, 24. 10. 1793 geboren.

    Ein anderer Sohn des vorgenannten Joannes Quix und Mechtildis Crijns, nämlich der Großvater des Geschichtsschreibers und auch unser direkter Vorfahre, Christianus Quix, 1710 geboren, war Müller auf der Mühle von Mulraede in Thull-Schinnen, er heiratete Ida Meijers und pachtete den Wijngaardshof in Hoensbroek. Für mich bemerkenswert ist, dass Ida Meijers in der Kirche von Hoensbroek begraben ist. Wie ich jetzt von Patelski weiß, wollte man so dicht wie möglich nach dem Tode bei Gott sein und im Tabernakel ist ja Gott, so war es eine Frage des Geldes, dass sich manche aus der sozialen Oberschicht in der Kirche begraben ließen.
